David is a mediator as well as an attorney. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in medical malpractice and nursing home. He is certified as a specialist in medical malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. He has been a Rule 31 Listed Mediator (Civil) in Tennessee since 2001 and has a particular interest in mediating medical malpractice cases. He serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and the Executive Council of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Tennessee Bar Association. He has taught numerous continuing legal education courses in the areas of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

David graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, cum laude, from the University of Kentucky in 1981. He graduated from UK's law school in 1984, and was admitted to practice law in Kentucky in the same year. He was admitted to practice in Tennessee in 1990. He is also admitted to the bars of the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern Districts of Kentucky and Tennessee, the United States Claims Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

His reported cases include Henderson v. Bush Bros., 868 S.W.2d 236 (Tenn. Ct. App. 1993), (motion to amend a complaint must be ruled upon before court considers a motion for summary judgment), and Frazier v. East Tn. Baptist Hosp., 55 S.W.3d 925 (Tenn. 2001), (motion to amend complaint tolls statute of limitations if amended complaint tendered with motion).
