Claude K. Robertson (1932-1993)

Claude Robertson graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1958, LL.D., where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1959. Married to Joy, daughters Claudia and DeAnna.

Claude practiced law in Knoxville for over thirty-three years. In 1982 he was the founding partner of the firm Robertson, Williams, Ingram, Faulkner & Overbey (which is now Robertson Overbey). Claude was a member of the American, Tennessee, and Knoxville Bar Associations (President of the Jr. Bar Section in1962).

He served on the Board of Directors of United Way, Knoxville; Travelers Aid Society; Presbyterian Homes of Tennessee, Inc. (of which he was Chairman of the Board); Knoxville Community Development Corporation; and Charter Commission for Knox County Home Rule; Campaign Manager for Republican Howard Baker for Senate 1964 and 1966; and Chairman of the Tennessee Republican State Executive Committee from 1967 to 1969.

Claude served with the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. He was listed in “Who’s Who in the South and Southwest” 1969, and in “The Best Lawyers in America” 1987, under Corporate Law. He was also a Presbyterian deacon and elder.
